HKBU recently participiated at InnoEX 2026. This year, HKBU was proud to feature two innovative start-ups nurtured by the University, showcasing the diverse real-world applications of our research:
WE Future Limited: A deep-tech venture focused on pushing the boundaries of innovative technology and its industrial applications.
Climind Limited: A start-up dedicated to delivering climate-related data solutions and promoting environmental sustainability through advanced analytics.
A highlight of the event was the visit of Dr Albert CHAU, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), and Mr Edmond LAM, Director of Knowledge Transfer, to the HKBU pavilion. Their presence underscored the University’s commitment to supporting its entrepreneurial community and fostering dialogue between academia and industry.
The HKBU spirit of innovation extended beyond the exhibition floor through high-level knowledge exchange:
Prof. ZHU Furong, Professor of the Department of Physics and founder of Crimson Vision Technology Limited, was invited to the BIP Link – Hefei-HK Inno Tech Roundtable. He shared insights on "Non-destructive Fruit Quality Testing Technology and IoT Solutions", demonstrating how HKBU research addresses critical needs in agricultural supply chains. The event was further distinguished by the visit of Mr HAN Bing, representative of the Hefei Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, who engaged with our team to gain a deeper insight into the University’s achievements in research translation.
Mr Leon YUAN, CEO of WE Future Limited, presented at the Exhibitor Forum, sharing the company’s latest technological breakthroughs with an audience of global industry professionals and potential partners.

InnoEX 2026 was held from 13 to 16 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Jointly organised by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, this year’s event was themed "Innovate · Automate · Elevate", bringing together over 500 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions to explore frontiers in AI, robotics, and smart mobility.
