The Hong Kong Baptist University Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship empowers start-up enterprises by leveraging the entrepreneurship support platform of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and the policies of Qianhai Authority. Positioned as a cross-border joint Incubation and innovation hub, the institute also possesses the functions of novel research and development, and has established five major bases: the Cross-border Incubation Base, Technology Innovation Base, Knowledge Transfer and Industrial Empowerment Base, Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Base, and the Local and International Joint Academic Exchange Base. By integrating HKBU’s resources, the institute is committed to developing advanced technologies and solutions that demonstrate the value of scientific and technological innovation, achieving “win-win” outcomes in economic and social impact, and enhancing the influence and significance of HKBU in Qianhai and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Subsidy Policies

  1. Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme

    i)    i) Individual Subsidies
    • Employment Subsidy: up to RMB 96,000 per person every year
    • Accommodation Subsidy: up to RMB12,000 per person every year
    • Living Subsidy: up to RMB 24,000 per person every year
    ii)    Enterprise Support
    • Start-up Reward: one-time bonus up to RMB 1 million
    • Corporate Income Tax: eligible enterprises may enjoy a reduced 15% tax rate

HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Programme

If your start-up team meets any of the following criteria, you may submit an application for incubation admission to the HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

  • Enterprises founded and held by HKBU staff, students or alumnus
  • Enterprises officially licensed IP from HKBU or HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

To be eligible for the policies of Qianhai Authority , please note the following requirements:

  • The enterprise must be registered and established in Qianhai, Shenzhen
  • At least 25% of the company’s issued share must be held by Hong Kong permanent residents

Priority tenancy will be given to applicants meeting any one of the following conditions:

  • Within the past two years, the enterprise has received influential honorary titles, awards, or accreditations at the municipal level or above
  • Within the past two years, the enterprise has received funding support from HKBU or other venture capital with a cumulative amount equals or over RMB 500,000
  • Within the past two years, the enterprise has a cumulative sales revenue equals or over RMB 1.2 million

Application & Admission Review Process

  1. Prepare application materials: project description, team information, proof of HKBU membership, etc.
  2. Submit the materials to the HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  3. Review and scoring by the vetting panel from the HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  4. Application approval
  5. Prepare for enterprise registration in Qianhai and submit the enterprise information
  6. Complete all required documentation
  7. Sign the incubation agreement
  8. Obtain the office address and register the enterprise in Qianhai

Warm reminder

We recommend that you conduct a site visit and have a prior discussion with us before submitting the materials. After submission, the HKBU Qianhai Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship will review the applications in the order they are received. Due diligence will be conducted on the projects when necessary.
