HKBU IP Economy Forum Explores How AI and Strategic Innovation are Driving the Future of Creativity

The Knowledge Transfer Office of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) successfully hosted its “HKBU IP Economy Forum” today. Under the theme “Prosperity Through Creativity”, the forum convened a powerful line-up of experts from diverse sectors, including the Intellectual Property Department of the Government of the HKSAR of the People’s Republic of China, popular local IPs B.Duck and Bunni Konbiny, cultural landmarks Ocean Park and M+, as well as the global luxury brand Louis Vuitton, alongside intellectual property laywer, valuation specialist,and other experts. Together with HKBU representatives, they exchanged unique insights and shared practical experiences.

The event was officially opened by Dr CHAN Pak Li, Bernald, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR of the People’s Republic of China and Prof. Terence LAU, Interim Chief Innovation Officer of HKBU, who delivered the welcoming remarks.

The forum focused on IP development strategies for the creative industries and the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the field of intellectual property. Through insightful keynotes and panel discussions, speakers and HKBU representatives shared invaluable, practical experience in brand building, IP licensing, and asset management, offering a comprehensive view of how to transform intangible "IP" into tangible assets. They also incorporated industry case studies to inspire enterprises to empower IP with creativity and technology, enhancing competitiveness and international influence.

The event was met with an enthusiastic response, attracting around 250 attendees and successfully fostering cross-sector knowledge exchange, contributing to a more vibrant creative and IP ecosystem for Hong Kong.
