HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneur Summit

Nine start-ups participated in the HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneur Summit in Beijing.
Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, delivered a keynote speech titled “Breaking Boundaries, Enabling Collaborative Translation: HKBU’s Practice in Technology Transfer”.
Mr Leon Yuen, founder of WE Future Limited, took part in two pitching sessions at the summit, sharing two flagship products from his start-up—“WE0.ai” and “Case x Case”.

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) participated in the HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneur Summit in Beijing from August 26 to 29, showcasing diverse innovation outcomes from nine start-up teams. Their research spans artificial intelligence, biomedicine, medical and health products, new materials, personal care, and smart agriculture, demonstrating HKBU’s strength in industry–academia–research integration.

During the summit, Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, delivered a keynote speech titled “Breaking Boundaries, Enabling Collaborative Translation: HKBU’s Practice in Technology Transfer,” emphasising that universities should evolve from “knowledge producers” to “innovation connectors,” advancing research toward practical application and market translation. Professor Wai also visited HKBU booth to engage in-depth with start-up representative, learn about their product application scenarios, and encourage HKBU members to innovate boldly and connect their inventions with industry and the market.

Mr Leon Yuen, founder of WE Future Limited, took part in two pitching sessions at the summit, sharing two flagship products from his start-up—“WE0.ai” and “Case x Case”. Leveraging efficient AI core technologies, the solutions help small and medium enterprises rapidly build digital showcase platforms; while the browser is running, the AI analyses market data in real time, supporting start-ups and aspiring founders in building professional websites and entering target markets more smoothly.

HKBU will continue to drive innovation and technology, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and technology translation, and support start-ups founded by HKBU members in successfully entering the commercial market.
