Motivation and Entrepreneurship Success
At the age of 29, with $5,000 each from himself and another classmate, he established Centaline Property Agency Limited - the largest property agency in China. In 2005, when few was optimistic about the opportunity, he took 100 million from his personal saving and launched the free newspaper am730. He is Shih Wing Ching, a legend in both real estate and media industries, and will share his unique ideas and philosophy of entrepreneurship with you.

Mr. Shih Wing Ching was born in Shanghai and brought up in Hong Kong. In 1978, Mr. Shih established Centaline Property Agency Limited, which has now evolved into one of the largest property agencies in China, employing more than 30,000 employees and involving in a great variety of businesses including property agency, surveying and valuation, personnel consulting services, wealth management, and information technology development on property data.
In 2005, Mr. Shih launched the free newspaper am730 and is now a columnist on current issues. Mr. Shih also hosts radio programmes and frequently delivers speeches in tertiary institutions on all topics including life experience and insights as an entrepreneur.
In 2008, Mr. Shih donated all his shares in Centaline Group to his charitable Shih Wing Ching Foundation to support the farming population in Mainland China. In 2011, Mr. Shih set up am730 Startup Fund to support good ideas for small business in Hong Kong.
Mr. Shih is very active in public services. He is currently a member of the Commission on Strategic Development and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hong Kong Sinfonietta. He has also served as member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Estate Agents Authority.
New Media – Where Innovation Never Ends
He found several new media companies and provided a number of revolutionary services, including WiserNews and Anyplex Co.Ltd. While the former re-defined information integration and consumption patterns, the latter is the first and largest Video-On-Demand aggregator in Greater China. He is Ringo Lam, someone who loves life and new things. He believes media and technology are ever evolving, and the flip side of challenge is opportunity. He will share with us how to grasp the trend on the entrepreneurial path.

Mr. Ringo Lam, a successful entrepreneur, has found several new media companies in the Great China region including Wisers Information Limited (1998) and Moochi.com (2005). Mr. Lam is currently the founder and CEO of Anyplex Co. Ltd. (2007), one of the largest Video-On-Demand aggregator in the region. The innovative product “WiseNews”, developed by Wisers has changed the ecology of journalism, and the technology that works behind it has won many awards, including the Hong Kong Awards for Industries and the World Summit Award. Mr. Lam's experience in the creative industry and his success in turning creative ideas into real products is a source of inspiration for all aspiring innovators.
Mr. Lam founded the Internet Professionals Association in 1999 as the founding president; the association has grown to be the largest Internet association in Hong Kong. Mr. Lam’s other social duties include member of Board of Advisors for Radio Television Hong Kong and Secretary-General of Hong Kong DigiCreate Alliance.

He graduated from Baptist University in Applied Biology but started his career in advertising. He is the forerunner in the business of “moving billboard”. He is alumnus Thomas Hung, who will share how to prepare for entrepreneurship, and how to think outside the box and drive entrepreneurship with creativity.

Mr. Thomas Hung graduated from Baptist University in 2002. Soon after his graduation, Mr. Hung established the Easy Dynamic Advertising (Exterior Walls) Ltd. He is the pioneer in “moving billboard” advertising business in Hong Kong. He created the “world-first” and patented double tube and ferris-wheels type moving billboard, mobile display car, car of stage, and moving stage. In 2011, he set up Easy Group (Hong Kong) Ltd., focusing on media planning of out-of-home (OOH) advertising in Hong Kong.
Mr. Hung is also the winner of Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year 2003 organized by City Junior Chamber and the Most Creative Award for LiveWIRE Awards 2004 by Shell & HKFYG.

Business Entrepreneurship Support & Training (BEST) is the first university-wide entrepreneurship program to offer support and training to equip students with can-do attitude and business acumen to become successful entrepreneurs in the turbulent business environment.

What’s Entrepreneurship Sharing and Network (ESAN)?
Entrepreneurship Sharing and Network are seminars, workshops, trainings, exchange activities, etc. designed for students at various levels.
Entrepreneurship Seminar Series is to be organised throughout the year, where business coaches and mentors share their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. Invited speakers may include Council members, university fellows, advisory board members, staff members, alumni, and university friends.
Entrepreneurship Innovation Labs are workshops to help students develop their business ideas from a mere concept to profitable, high value-added products and services. These workshops will also equip individuals with necessary attitudes and skills to handle and benefit from the uncertainties in the volatile and ever-evolving economy.
Entrepreneurship Bootcamp offers an optimal environment to prepare students to start up their ventures by bringing together the entrepreneurial team and industry experts. In addition to product development, a broad range of tailor-made trainings in business plan evolution, competitive analysis, business models, pitching will be offered so that students can maximise their chances for a successful pitch.
Trans-border Multilateral Entrepreneurship Exchange offers students the opportunity to take part in further entrepreneurship trainings at collaborating universities in Mainland China, Taiwan, and Macau. By spending approximately one week at each region, students will be given invaluable insights by experts at these institutions, and opportunities to visit and interact with local enterprises and relevant government bodies.
