Every year, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (Trust) makes funds available to the Chief Executive for allocation to projects of benefit to the community. The Trust is now calling for applications for the Chief Executive’s Community Project List 2016.
Important Note: The theme for the CE's Community Project List 2016 is "conservation of countryside and rural areas of Hong Kong".
Each application should include the following information –
1. Project Form (Annex B); and
2. Annexes to the Project Form (Annex B-1, B-2, B-2a &b and B-3)
The general selection criteria for the selection of projects are set out at Annex A. A guidance note on how to complete the Project Form is enclosed at Annex C.
Please note that priority will be given to projects with nil or minimal recurrent implications. In view of the Trust’s preference for supporting more sizable projects, projects costing less than $10 million will normally be accorded a low priority and are therefore unlikely to be selected. In addition, applications which were repeatedly re-submitted in the past few years will stand a low chance of success.
The result of the application, after final endorsement by the Trust, is expected to be available in July 2016. Approved projects should generally commence within six months after acceptance of the Trust’s donation. The approved fund will be disbursed as reimbursement of project expenses rather than as a lump sum grant.
Completed electronic copy of the proposal should be forwarded to Knowledge Transfer Office for comments by 16 December 2015 (Mon). The recommended applications will then be submitted to the University Grants Committee for consideration and eventual submission to the Trust for approval.
Note: Priority of funding will be given to projects that are in line with the theme. That said, applications which fall outside the thematic area may also be considered. And it is required to submit only ONE application per institution.
