About KT Awards

Established in 2014, the KT Awards include 2 awards - HKBU Innovation Award and HKBU Knowledge Transfer Award, which will be presented yearly.

 

HKBU Innovation Award

Sponsored by the University Grants Committee (UGC) Knowledge Transfer (KT) funding and the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) Promotion of Innovation and Technology Fund, and administered by the Knowledge Transfer Committee (KTC) via the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO), this most promising Innovation of the Year Award is awarded to an innovation resulting from the research outcome of faculty at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) for a given year, wherein said innovation is judged to be possessing the utmost innovative value along the criteria of:

  • Provide leadership contributions in key economic, social, well-being or environmental areas in serving the community
  • Provide significant, sustainable positive impact and/or fundamental change for the betterment of the community
  • Provide exemplary contributions towards building the innovative strengths at HKBU
  • Possessing the greatest potential to further raise HKBU’s good reputation globally
 
Prize:
  • Cash Prize: HK$ 10,000

  • Any type of innovation by one or more faculty members of HKBU; AND
  • The innovation contains Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) elements

Each nomination for the Innovation Award shall consist of:

  • A duly completed nomination form (applicable to both nominators/ applicants)
  • A set of appendices as indicated in the nomination form

HKBU Knowledge Transfer Award

Sponsored by the University Grants Committee (UGC) Knowledge Transfer (KT) funding and administered by the Knowledge Transfer Committee (KTC) via the Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO), this exemplar Knowledge Transfer Award is awarded to a knowledge transfer project led by a HKBU colleague/team which is judged to have utmost value for community engagement through its knowledge transfer along the criteria of:

  • Provide leadership contributions via intellectual-based knowledge transfer in serving the community needs
  • Provide significant, sustainable positive impact and/or fundamental change for long term betterment of the community
  • Provide exemplar contributions towards building the research and teaching strengths at HKBU
  • Possessing the greatest potential to further raise HKBU’s good reputation globally
 
Prize:
  • Cash Prize: HK$ 10,000

  • Any type of knowledge transfer project completed by one or more members of HKBU
  • Knowledge Transfer Projects which are completed or to be completed are both eligible
